Emily McDougall ARAD RTS

Artistic Director & Head of Classical Ballet

Trained at the McDonald College, Emily's achievements extend from acceptance into the Australian Ballet School's Interstate Program, to being the recipient of the Robert & Elizabeth Albert Scholarship in 2009 and the Senior Ann McDonald Scholarship in 2010. Emily also completed all RAD Vocational Ballet Examinations, including Advanced 2, with Distinction.

Emily was a member of Premier State Ballet from 2009 - 2011 and at the age of 15 Emily toured parts of Britain & Europe, where she was accepted into the Royal Ballet School. Emily was unable to fulfil this opportunity due to a recurring injury, but in light of disappointment, this experience has strongly influenced her approach and outlook on teaching today.

Emily completed her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) through the Royal Academy of Dance in 2017, gaining full accreditation as an RAD Graded & Vocational Examinations teacher.

In 2018, Emily continued to further her professional development with completion of Level 1 Teacher Training and Level 2 Pointe Teacher Training at Perfect Form Physiotherapy, under the guidance of internationally recognised dance physiotherapist Lisa Howell.

With just over 8 years of teaching experience, Emily continues to embrace a strong focus on safe, correct and highly technical training in all her classes. She is extremely grateful for the support of her inspiring and motivated team who instil these same values in their teaching.

Beyond the role of a Studio Principal and Classical Ballet Teacher, Emily adores being a mentor for young dancers looking to take their next step forward in dance.
